TESTIMONIALS
From Left to Right: Debi Gale (speech & cognitive therapist), Gary, Joan (sister), Mom
Nashville A-Team studio musicians left to right:
Tommy White - steel guitar, Gary "Bud" Smith - piano, Charlie McCoy - harmonicas / vibes, Mark Burchfield - bass, Wanda Vick Burchfield - banjo / dobro / acoustic / guitar / fiddle, Gary Schopmeyer - drums / vocals on "Going to Schopmeyer Mountain", "Hill Billy Billy", JT Corenflos - guitars.
Gary Schopmeyer is a thriving example of recovery
from severe traumatic brain injury after a major automobile accident. Gary has shown that hard work, persistence, and dedication to his medical care, his therapies, his interests and his community life can lead to the building of a new, exciting and fulfilling life. I am grateful to have been a witness to
this process.

Speech-Language Pathologist, Brain Injury Specialist
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Gary since the fall of 2010. When we began therapy he was only a few weeks recovered from the terrible car wreck that resulted in his TBI. At that time Gary struggled with even the most basic of tasks. Every aspect of his life had been impacted. He had issues with coordination, speech, memory & he was, understandably, very traumatized by the experience. But one thing that never wavered was Gary’s resolve to heal and to learn to cope with his new ‘self’. By committing to the process of rehabilitation and therapy Gary was able to become, for the most part, independent again. And although he will never be the same as he was before, he has learned to thrive as the person he is now. He has been an inspiration to every doctor and therapist he has worked with and I’ve no doubt he will be a source of inspiration and support to the TBI community. He is truly an example of how a positive attitude can bring positive results.
